Smith Chart Impedance Matcher

Network

    S₁₁ vs frequency

0 dB at the top; deeper dips = better match. Green dashed line = design frequency. Checkbox overlays Γ(f) on the Smith chart.

    f: — GHz · S₁₁: — dB · RL: — dB

Grid shows normalized R and X. Matching arcs are Γ paths (same in both views).

Drag a colored endpoint to tune that element.

    How to use

    1. Design — Set Z₀, load R/X (or a Z(f) table from a datasheet), and the design frequency.
    2. Examples — Optional presets (L-section, broadband, device Z(f), …) to explore quickly.
    3. Network — Add series/shunt L/C or a transmission line. Schematic is source (left) → load (right).
    4. Smith chart — Red = load, green = Z₀ center, colored arcs = each element. Drag an endpoint along its arc to change that component’s value (or use sliders / Auto-tune).
    5. Z / Y grid — Toggle impedance (const. R, X) vs admittance (const. G, B); matching paths stay the same.
    6. S₁₁ vs frequency — Band plot of match quality. Hover for crosshairs. Optional checkbox overlays Γ(f) on the Smith chart.

Chain order: first element is nearest the load. Sliders: center = typed value, left ≈ zero, right = 2×.
